Visual
Media with Pd and Gem
Pure Data (Pd) is an Open
Source graphical programming environment for multimedia development
similar to Max/MSP. It allows audio, graphic and physical media to be
linked together. In this introductory workshop we look at the basics
– what is Pd, who uses it, and how to operate the software,
including the interface, available functions (objects) and
programming techniques. The second half of the workshop is structured
around Gem, a library of video and graphic tools used in Pd to create
dynamic visuals, useful for VJs, interactive videos, installations
and motion graphics.
